Master ASL – Level One (with DVD) and student workbook by Zinza

This course is designed to ground the student in ASL vocabulary, fingerspelling, numbers, grammatical structure and Deaf culture, including classifiers and basic non-manual signals.

Through classroom instruction, experiential and self-directed growth, the student should create a strong basis in beginning vocabulary and basic expressive conversational skills in the first semester. The student will continue to expand his or her growth in practicum during the second semester and develop stronger communication skills to include both expressive and receptive capabilities coupled with a deeper understanding of deaf culture.
