Learn basic and intermediate skills of fencing saber and foil. Fencing develops physical strength, stamina, and hand eye coordination. Students will learn the rules and terminology used in competitive Olympic fencing. Intermediate fencing includes classes designed around strategies used in competitive fencing. This is an excellent and fun sport to develop physical, mental, and competitive skills that can be used in everyday life.
Students will be strongly encouraged to participate in 8 weeks of competition as a team in the Southwest Ohio Fencing Association, occurring from mid-January to mid-March. There will be an additional fee associated with the competition. This gives the students the opportunity to apply their newly acquired skills in friendly competition and social interaction with other students from schools city-wide. http:// www.salledulion.org/ and [email protected]
