Henle Latin II
This class advances our study of Latin into more challenging Latin translation. This year is designed for thorough review of grammar concepts and paradigms, new vocabulary and translation practice before attempting to read Caesar or other advanced translation found in Latin IV. The backbone of Henle Latin II is intensive language study, including review of the first year plus new materials. Readings from Caesar’s Commentaries, extensive exercises, and Latin-English vocabularies fill the volume. As in past years, we will complement our Latin study with a novel set in the first-century Roman Empire.
Students should plan on 4-6 hours weekly on homework.
