This is Angie’s first year teaching Beginning American Sign Language at PATH. She has a degree in Sign Language Interpreting and an Educational License from the Ohio Department of Education. Angie is also a community interpreter who currently works in medical and religious settings. Interpreting at Mother of God church in Covington, Kentucky is a blessing and a fulfilling way to use her gifts for ministry. Her favorite interpreting specialty is performance. One of her earliest passions was acting, which led her to obtain a Broadcasting Certificate and start her career at a local TV news station. Those experiences helped prepare her to perform songs in ASL in front of large audiences.
She has been married to her husband Mark for fifteen years and they have been small business owners for a majority of that time. They love spending time with their three young sons and are active in their home church and children’s school. She regularly teaches her children and their friends about ASL. Lately, their hobbies have been taking on large home projects as a team and they are also certified Scuba divers. Angie can’t wait for the opportunity to mix sign language with Scuba and communicate with others while under the water!
She is excited to meet the motivated students at PATH and looks forward to educating and guiding students on their way to communicate in American Sign Language.
